Weeks after I penned it, the Church Times last Thursday published my article about the rise of the Okehampton Foodbank. It seems to have made good waves. As it ought: on the strength and integrity of the project alone. And this week I have completed a piece called M62: in the company of ghosts. It's for Erbacce Press, who are working on a book about motorways, 'encompassing poetry, art and academic work about motorways', and who liked what they read of my 2007 motorway walk. Nice to revisit it, put slight new slants on some of the stories and observations. And to offer them some road poems from the book as well. I'll look forward to seeing it in print.
